V. Staunton 04-16-13; honored with an illustrated scroll on his 100th birthday by citizens of Staunton; his home at 202 Thompson St. was noted for its flower garden which he tended until only a few years before his death; at death was Staunton's last Confederate veteran and last known survivor of 5th Va.
